Bow Down Bitches

Hey Guys!

I've Just been practising RL faces and Jack (QueenDetox) was kind enough to teach me his skin technique - I know it's not anywhere near as good as his but hopefully in time I will be just as amazing as he is!

Anyway, I know this is a verrrryyyy obvious face but hey ho GUESS WHO?

PS. I went to watch The Great Gatsby yesterday and I fell in love with the whole film. Here is my favourite song at the moment!

What do you think?

    1. And here goes my critique:

When the graphic is in a smaller size as in the post it looks pretty good. Although, the original version shows some errors. The eyebrows are very odd shaded as if you just selected the pencil tool and drew some random lines, which of course kinda ruins the graphic. Also, you should watch the outline of the lips because it's way too dark at the bottom. Another thing bothering me is the fact that you highlighted the skin on the cheeks but did not exactly shade it with black so it created a lot contrast between them.

I still like it very much! And I loved Lana's song so much as well as Florence Welch's Over the love.

  2. While I appreciate the fact you're trying new stuff, I don't think using another person's technique is a good idea. Developing your own technique is much more rewarding and makes every graphic special.

The eyes are very nice and I think the eyebrows are fine, but I'm not really sure I like the rest. It's a bit messy and the nose has limited shading, making it look 2D. However, I can see enormous improvement from previous graphics, so that's good:)

  3. First, The Great Gatsby is one of the best movies I've seen since the Titanic. Second, Bow Down has been of my favorite songs since it came out. Best combination for a post. Well done.

  4. too much emphasis on her being shiny the highlights aren't organic they look very odd and sharp. 1-3 layers of highlighting looks normal put more emphasis on your actual shading.
