DeleteI really like the second hairstyle, but I feel like the other two aren't as "neat" as the middle one. When I make hair, I always draw out every detail. That way, I know where things are going and so they won't clash and create a gray glob(I used to have a big problem with that). Maybe you could make your strands cleaner and easier to identify, then, of course, it's just simple shading from there:)

DeleteThe middle one(whitish) is the best of all. And that's because the shading is neat and you didn't put the darker layers close to the little lighter but on the exact same spot though lower. Also remember to be logical and follow your own instinct when shading because some things may not be clear on your image so you shade at the wrong place, which makes the graphic odd.
ReplyDeletethank you! yeah, as i said to kasey, the reference was a lot clearer and therefore made it easier to make the layers neater. i always try to remind myself to stick to my instincts, but sometimes i just trust the reference too much!
DeleteHmm... Maybe practise doing your own hair when you have time for a random graphic? I do that often or check the graphic after a few days that I've lost my excitement about it and I can see the mistakes clearer.
DeleteAll you have to care about is to not make the hair flat. Helen and Kasey said the second one is my fav. you'll get it through practice like every time. You hit everything easily. Your gonna do this to. For some inspiration compare your first mag and compare X :P
